This is the 2001 Christmas letter set to video.
Shortly after the posting of our 2009 Christmas letter on Facebook, Claire asked when the other years in between (meaning 2001-07) were going to get done. Given the amount of time it took to put together one of these - gathering and selecting pictures from different media, auditioning music tracks that were relevant and captured the mood of the time, presenting the text in a readable way, and dealing with computer crashes just from using Pinnacle, it simply was not in the plans. The whole VHS to DVD and the 1990s letters were done and dusted, and it was time to move on to other things.
It didn’t take long to realize this is more for posterity than anything else, and so some improved software was bought to create new DVDs to fill in the gaps. So we have Claire's nudging to thank for these next 7 installments coming to being.
As you will see, some were more difficult than others to do. This clip's tracks reflects the wild popularity of the first Harry Potter movie, and is punctuated by the somber ravages of war (terrorism in this case).
Video software is Cyberlink Power Director 8.
